Federal Government IFAD/AFD Value Chain Programme 2026
Call for Applications:
The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the French Development Agency (AFD), has officially opened recruitment for experienced professionals under the Value Chain for Northern Nigeria Programme (VCN).
This flagship agricultural initiative is designed to increase incomes, food security, and climate resilience among smallholder farmers and agricultural actors across Northern Nigeria, with a strong focus on empowering youth and women.
Participating States
The programme will be implemented across 9 Northern States:
- Kebbi
- Sokoto
- Zamfara
- Jigawa
- Kano
- Katsina
- Bauchi
- Yobe
- Borno
(Note: The National Programme Coordination Office will be located in Abuja).

Qualification Requirements
Education & Experience: Applicants must possess relevant academic qualifications (Master’s or Bachelor's degrees depending on the role) and demonstrable professional experience in agricultural development, donor-funded projects, public sector, or international development.
- Competencies: Strong technical knowledge, ability to operate in complex operational environments, and experience collaborating with government bodies, private sector entities, and civil society.
